I was wondering why this forum is here? After all aren't CSLs just more expensive E46 M3s?

Wouldn't most of the matter on this forum be discussable on the normal M-Power forum or is this an exclusive club for people that like ageing 3 series, with cracked rear sub-frames and rubbish SMG gearboxes?

No one seems to discuss the original CSL Batmobiles here so whats the point?

Could someone enlighten me to what we are missing here, it just seems like a pointless waste of space on the forum index.

Heck even Audi and AMG don't get there own page, strange!

Lets hope BMW will come out with a new CSL soon rather than focusing on Triple Turbo Diesels so we can read about something other than 'do I need AP racing brakes... I over-took a 458 on track... how do I retofit a radio into my car'............ sleep

I am sure many will tell me to sod off and not read this forum, but I like reading interesting things and just find this forum a bit stale.

  • Sorry if I offended any of the 7 CSL owners on here, I do respect these cars to some extent.*

Oh quite true, I have been overtaken by a tarted up E36 328i. Like I said I respect all M cars but I am not so sure why the CSLs are put up on to such a high pedestal, what is the fascination?

Apart from the induction noise is it really that much better than a E46 M3CS on sticky tyres?

Not sure they are put on a pedestal tbh......Do I drive it ? Yes. Do I enjoy it ? Yes. Do I fk it ? No.

One day it'll be in the scrapper. It's a box of metal.

For a road and track compromise, that maintains a level of practicality, its a good car IMO for the money. It also doesn't 5hit money in depreciation.

There are better, there are worse out there depending on your requirements.

Odd thread. PM the admins if it bothers you and make the suggestion to move it to the M forum.

I am not going to PM them, but I do feel there needs to be a bit of a reshuffle regards to the forum indexs. I would love to see more relevant threads about, RS4s, AMGs, Renault Sports, R8s, RS Fords etc....

I guess my OP was a bit two fold in fairness, I just don't see the point in there being a thread for one car (which there are 250 remaining in the UK) that is so similar to normal M3s.

Heck even Ferrari don't even get their own space, having to share their posts with 239,000 other Italian car owners compared to the 6,700 CSL posts.

Great that the mods here have been nice enough to group all these posts into one place so you can just ignore them. Take it you've no interest in a whole website dedicated to the E46 CSL then? smile

I must say, whether the CSL has it's own forum or not is high up on my worry list. Last night I told my son that even though he was ill he'd have to sit there and cry whilst his mother and I debated the CSL forum on pistonheads. I then rang my Dad, he too was concerned and said he'd raise it at the next meeting at Rotary, he expects it will get much discussion. I even tweeted about it, it's gone trending mad. Clearly everyone agrees that the CSL having it's own forum on pistonheads is a breach of their human rights. Write to your MP. Lets start the 'stop the CSL forum on pistonheads campaign' and go and set up some tents outside St Pauls.

Or I could look in my big bag of care and find it completely empty.

There are loads of forums on here that I have absolutely no interest in. I mean, how many TVR forums can you have? Maybe I should start threads about getting those closed. Or maybe I can just ignore the stuff I'm not interested in? idea

They're a bit flaky and don't start up too well. People on there also suffer from bouts of incontinence leaving big pools behind them. smile

I suppose, just like the CSL's themselves, this forum is quite exclusive...

It was set up when C3bmw, or something like that was closed down by BMW so there was lots of lost souls with nowhere to go... so Pistonheads created a dedicated forum.
There may be less than 500 UK cars, so a whole forum just for them may still seem strange to some, but the CSL is a FANTASTIC car and so much more than a normal M3 (which I have had 3 of) so three years after selling my CSL I still wish I hadn’t... Nothing makes me smile as much as the sound of a CSL.
Anyway if Scimitar can have a forum why can’t the CSL....biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I think the number of posts the in TVR sections is also greatly exaggerated.
