E9 CSL - buying / ownership advice

One went through the Gooding auction last week sold for circa £90k. Great looking car in black and what looks like a great history.

Same vintage/concept as the 73RS, but Porsche clearly a better investment proposition.http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1972-bmw-3-0-csl/

Saw this RHD-CSL in German online-market. Maybe it is interesting for UK.

If somebody will need a translation, I can do it.

Hi rolari, that Chamonix CSL had been with a Dealer in Surrey for ages. Guessing they have done a deal with the German dealer who is now advertising it.
Great shame its gone out of England as few / IF ANY 3.0CSLs seem to return here once exported.
Incidentally, this car was apparently Inca Orange originally, which was the rarest and some say best 3.0CSL color. Just 30 out of the UK batch of 500 were Inca, including the one that Chris Amon was given by Concessionaires, which is currently being restored.

That'll take a lot of money to get looking anywhere near the cars above.

When I was working in Oxford in the eighties I bought an E9 CSL from Tom Walkinshaws garage. It was no 488 of the 500 rhd examples. Silver with the black csl stripes.
Nice car, nowhere near as good a drive as the 911 of the same vintage but a very comfortable and quick car.
Problems were mainly in the bodywork which was fragile and rust prone. Bulkhead prone to rust. I had the bodywork redone which was somewhat expensive.
I've no idea if it has survived. Be interested to know what happened to it.
