My M5 - properly clean!
Discussion
Having just got my 2005 M5, I decided to look into the world of 'detailing'. I discovered that Jay from GleamingKleen was based just down the road from me so I booked it in for a 2 day correction detail which ended up taking 3 days to get right. I've never experienced detailing before so didn't really know what to expect but.... WOW! Jay is a pro in the true sense of the word. He has a real passion for his work and has honestly left my 4 year old car looking like it's just come out of the showroom! Bear in mind when you look at these images, it pretty much went straight to Jay from the BMW main dealer who thought they'd given it a 'really good polish' before I took delivery
Enjoy... I know I will
First up wheels and tyres were cleaned, wheels were cleaned with Epsuma Revolution Wheel Cleaner and tyres scrubbed with BH Surfex HD

Engine bay cleaned with AS G101

Vehicle was foamed with AG Powermax 3 and worked into all panel gaps, badges and shuts

Using Zaino Z7 and the 2bm vehicle was washed and then clayed using Sonus green

After all washing stages were completed vehicle was dried and paint measurements were taken which showed all healthy levels of paint/clear and that rear bumper had been resprayed at some point.

After all correction work was completed vehicle was given a high pressure rinse and paintwork was then refined using Megs 205 on a megs finishing pad. Once all refining was complete paintwork was given IPA wipedown a coat of Swissvax Divine was applied.
Whilst wax cured the little jobs were completed such as polishing exhausts, cleaning windows, dressing tyres and applying protection to wheels
Few finished shots

I can't recommend Jay enough, and no, I'm not on a commission and am nothing more than a happy customer. His website is: www.gleamingkleen.co.uk

Fabulous stuff NobleLord!
Did he do the interior as well?
To be honest, it didn't need doing as it as pretty clean and I wanted him to focus on the paintwork first and foremost. That said, the leather would probably benefit from a clean sometime so I may get him to do it when he does the refresher for me in a couple of months.Did he do the interior as well?

Looking good - I'd be very proud of that car if it were mine
... I thknk the only way you could go better would be to look at KDS Keltec
They will sand the paintwork down and get rid of the orange peel effect you're left with.
Have a nose at their website... bloody amazing stuff
Nice work from Jay

Very nice!
Looks like hes done a brilliant job on it, you appreciate a car a whole lot more when its been detailed.
I'm no where near as good, but have some stuff.. Quite alot of stuff really, and do give the car a good clean regularly.
Has the car got wet since you had it detailed?
Unfortunately, yes Looks like hes done a brilliant job on it, you appreciate a car a whole lot more when its been detailed.

I was away on business for a couple of days and it sat on the drive. Needs a bit of a clean now. Never thought I'd get obsessive about keeping my car so clean, but when you've had it expertly detailed, you just want to keep that look

Exceptional work.
It's well worth having a car detailed by these type of bods since 99% of so-called (even main delear) valets are little more than Cleaning by Kruger sessions.
After two years of my 5 and 6 being done respectively, sympathetic roof down, lambswool mitt/grit guard cleaning (3 stage agitation including pressure foaming) always yields great results and the swirlfests of yore are still pleasantly absent.
(What a car, btw.

I use Dodo Juice Supernatural, and its amazing when it rains.. The water just runs straight off!
Its annoying though when its the dirty, sandy rain

Looks fantastic, that colour is stunning now it's all nice and shiney. Not impressed with the dealer prep though, paintwork before looks terrible.
Agreed it looks great now.Dealer prep seems pretty typical for a used BMW in my experience... have a look at the appalling state of the paintwork on their brand new cars in the showroom sometime !
