E60 M5 Drive settings

The majority of the time I drive the car in paddle mode. When I switch to fully auto I have to dial up the gear change speed to max, level 5. Is there a way of saving this setting so anytime I select DRIVE/AUTO it has the fastest gear change ?

Nope, it'll only keep it until the engine's switched off, however it will keep the settings if you flick between manual/smg whilst driving..

Autoschmauto: if you want relatively smooth urban tootlage, as I rediscovered this AM, simply leave it in default 400 mode with manual shift pattern 4 and it's not too bad.

Must admit, I'm finding quite a bit of shunt as I come off the gas for lights, etc: not diff type baulking just more of a highly strtung disdain than I formerly recall.

Strange sod.
