I'm looking for a very good example of an E36 M3.

I'm aware these cars are old now so I'm not expecting it to be in showroom condition - however I do want a very good example. I'm finding it hard to find a nice one.

The spec I am looking for is as follows...

must have:
Black or estoril blue (boston/fern green may be considered).
Be an Evo (3.2)
Be a 2 door (no saloons)
Leather interior
Very solid history, mostly or all BMW or a good recognised specialist.
90k or under
no rust on rear arches
no cat D/C cars
No drivetrain issues
Have NO modifications AT ALL
manual (NOT SMG)

prefered options:
HK upgrade
prefer a coupe but would consider a convertable.
No or very little track work

I will be getting an inspection done on the car by BMW before purchase.

If anyone has a car they want to get rid of and feel it fits the above description then please PM me.

Also what would be a good forum to look at to gain extra info on these cars ?

Thanks

I would keep watching the classified ads here along with Autotrader and possibly ebay. Good ones do appear from time to time, be prepared to travel, possibly as far as Northern Ireland to view.

One suggestion - don't rule a car out that's had the correct modifications.

Also you don't see many with the HK upgrade. In fact, I can't think of any I've seen for sale over the last 6 months that have had it. And it's not that good anyway.

Out of interest, what's your budget?

I really want to use this as a commuter car / the odd track day maybe. I really do not want anything with lowered suspension as I need a high ground clearance to get into my work car park.

I agree about the HK, but if the car has it it is a bonus.

I don't really have a budget. I'd clearly just want to pay the correct market price for the car I buy. I'd like to keep it under £8k as beyond this I'd rather pay the extra for an E46 M3.

Will keep watching the classifieds.......

A good 3.0 litre would be better than a dodgy 3.2.
And I suggest you may want the modification in the form of adjustable suspension - can transform the car as I found out myself.

No offence but finding one to the exact spec is going to be impossible.

Why dont you want a saloon? I have one and its bloody great! Better in the corners than the Coupe as well apparently

Aren't saloons set up softer than coupes as standard?

Yes I know. I'm prepared to be flexible on some of the things apart from colour really. And absolutely has to be a manual oh and leather.

I don't really want a 4 dr, just prefer the coupe look, never really use the back seats so the 2 extra doors are not needed.

French, you have lost the plot.
