M3 E46 Head Gasket or Cracked Head

Any occurances of this?
Mine has just gone, wont find out wether its the head or the gasket until the guys get in there. circa 18 hours labour...
Not pleased, but not much I can do. At least I spotted it early, rather than it breaking down - hopeful its the just the gasket (a hefty £800 still).

Head problems overall are quite rare, but cracked heads are easily as common, if not more so than the gasket as the problem.
Fingers crossed anyway!
