I'm about as practically minded as a not ver practically minded person, so is install something I should attempt on my own?
Got widescreen sat nav pro
First off, good buy. I was in the same situation about 6 months ago i.e. mechanically incompetent. It's actually quite an easy job, just got to have faith that when you pull them poppers in the boot to get the trim out, they (1) won't break got my intravee and Ipod adapter through

, and (2) will go back
. Apparently it's quite common to remove the CD stacker and replace with a plastic compartment that costs, ooh, about £5 (BMW part as well!) for the intravee unit to live in. There's actually plenty of info and pictures on the internet
, and check out mtorque as there's a wealth of tips on this as so many E46 M3 owners have done it.Do it!

there are videos on you tube. I also did this install using the storage tray refered to in the above post and managed to get it all done in about 1 hour. Probably 30 mins of that was trying to figure out how to drill a hole in the storage tray without a drill bit large enough! (cigratte lighter did this)
Hi all,
well, fair play, Intravee rocks!
My install is decidedly naff looking at the mo (though obviously the trim covers all that up
)
Anyone out there worried about installing it - trust me, if I can do it, you can!
The whole thing is very plug and play, the most incovenient part is removing the side trim to get to the CD changer housing
Just cant get over how good the system sounds with it (I've got HK), but would do to me as the CD playerr has been shagged from the moment I had the car (standard BM changer problems - whirring noises made, but wont pull the cd through to play!)
One question though, try as I might I cant get the display (16:9) to stay on the Ipod screen
I've tried pressing the overlapped rectangles (info) button, but this doesnt seem to keep it there for more than a few seconds?
