jump starting a Z4M
Discussion
Morning all
my M has been parked unmoved int he office carpark for 4 months and is as flat as a pancake ( no surprise). Before parking it I had a new battery fitted and was wondering about the best way to jump one as the book pack is at home. from memory, isnt the battery in the boot and therefore accesible or are there jump start points underneath the bonnet?
Im being very vague this morning.. sorry

Surely your car is still under warranty? Therefore just call BMW Assist & within 30 mins you will magically have a man in a BMW Assist Touring 5 series estate to sort you out!my M has been parked unmoved int he office carpark for 4 months and is as flat as a pancake ( no surprise). Ahh.. Had to do this not long ago as I'd not used her over the winter and spring.
I thought the points were in the boot too. Took the cover off only to find a tray with tools an air pressure thingy on top of the battery. Couldn't quite work out how to remove this. So got the manual out and there are points in the engine bay. The positive is in the middle of the baulkhead with a cover on top of it, you cant miss it, as it has two thick cables running to it and the negative is on the right hand side near the front strut.
Manged to jump her with ma wee clio..

Thanks all for the help. With the manual at home this info has been beneficial. Im off to the garage now to breath life into the M for the summer !
also, didnt want to call someone out just to jump it, thats just too embarrassing!
thanks again
( just wondering now if the battery is dead or will take a charge from the alternator)

Mine didn't start straight away either. Left the clio running attached to the Z4 for 5 mins, then it started no probs..
No issues since then. Just give it a good run afterwards..
Forgot to mention I had a few warning lights displayed on startup but once I switched her off and on again they disappeared..
