Engine Rattle at 2-4000 rpm

So my M3E46 has developed a rattling noise at lower revs just wonering if the same has happened to anyone else
It almost sounds like its blowing from the exhaust but its fine higher up the revs ,its a dull kind of noise,Ive had no warning lights or any other symptoms ,it just started yesterday

Fella... you need to be much more specific if you want any sensible input here.. it could be 101 things.. including too many sweets in the glove box..

Start by taking out of the car what you put in it yesterday when it started..!

Really hard to diagnose rattles of the internet.

First thing is to check for a loose heatshield.

Does it do it when stationary or when moving?

My Evo does this at 2.5kprm, i was under the impression that the S50/54 engines aren't the smoothest and they all rattle to some extent, from the vanos unit usually. Only worry when it starts pissing oil.
