2001 facelift in Silverstone Blue and fully loaded.Amazing car!
If it is a facelift version then the colour if probably Bluewater. Silverstone Blue I believe was only offered in the pre-facelift version. The picture posted above is a Bluewater. The two colour are similar - Bluewater has a more silver/metallic tint to it (I have a Bluewater '02).Congrats on the purchase - there is a lot to be enjoyed. Once you get used to it, consider a Tubi exhaust...you will never listen to the stereo again!

Bluewater was introduced in September 2001, so facelift cars on 'X' and 'Y' plates will be Silverstone.Welcome to the club...! Fantastic cars.
I use my for business, family life (had a baby 3 weeks ago) and of course.....pleasure. not many cars can fit into all the above the way the M5 does.
I absolutely love driving it everytime and I'm sure you'll also feel superior driving it... and it'll see off just about everything else. Evo's and scoobys are just tacky rubbish.
I even get 28 MPG on motorway runs, but i do get through the rear tyres quickly - i can't help it...! So easy to have a bit of tail sliding fun when you want. It's the only car i've owned not to be bored with after 8 weeks.
it doesn't need any mods, although i did just get some custom rear boxes fitted to bring out the V8 rumble just a little.....

Hey Wheel Nut, Custom as in built from scratch back boxes? Nice noise, and I am after a little more bite from mine but scared of commitment (as in so many other areas of my life!) incase its too loud.
Well, the actual silencers themselvs are off the shelf, but it's custom in terms of I know a guy who has his own exhaust garage and he put together the different parts to make what i wanted. I told him i wanted just a bit more throaty roar - he advised these he-flow silencers should be good, I picked what tips i wanted, he then bent some pipe, welded it all together and fitted it on - giving me the factory silencers in return with a guarantee that if i didn;t like the new setup he's re-fit the old system free of charge.The result is cost effective and as I wanted. it's all stainless steel and works well. Also savees weight and apparently offers a higher flow and thus more power.
Like you i wanted just a bit more, but bit scared of the commitment - especially as i use my car for business and often visit clients so i had to be discreet when driving sensibly and it is.
It can be done for you for under 500 pound (incl VAT) fitted if you want. You can also say if you want different shape/size tips, different boxes etc etc...
let me know if interested....

I am interested! Did you keep the resonator/xpipe?
Where are you situated?
SORRY FOR THREAD HIJACK!
yeah, the exhaust is cut out just before it splits into two (on EACH side) just before going into the original silencers so it's only the very rear end and very easy to put back if wanted. Where are you situated?
SORRY FOR THREAD HIJACK!
I'm on the sunny south coast in Bournemouth.
You can PM me to save this thread if you want more info or want to get your car booked in...!
