Time has come to sell the pride and joy frown

I have a fair idea of what I'd like for it but would be interested to hear peoples views on what they think I could reasonably ask for. Honestly, this really is a good one...

Really good cars like yours jump off the page when you see them, and command top dollar - looking at what's available on autotrader, I would try it at £14k for a private sale; a main dealer has a similar car for £15,995 - yours may well be a better car, but the peace of mid of a AUC car will be a big attraction for many buyers.

Good luck with the sale.

I agree with the above. If you are patient, and willing to humour some chancers, then your car really is very nice and will get good money .... £14995, to take £14000-£14500 maybe?

I knew that I would regret clicking on this as I recently bought my E46 M3. Same age, similar spec, double the miles ....... Don't let if go for less than £14k, as then I can sleep easy in the knowledge that I could not have afforded it if I'd waited hehe

I have the exact same year/condition/spec (minus tv & Sat Nav) as your car (although i havent had the KDS treatment....yet!). I bought mine in Sep last year for £14,800 with 39k on the clock. I know prices have fluctuated recentely but like everyone above has said, you car will sell instantly because it looks like an absolute belter! I'd go in at £15K with a view to selling it as close to that price as you possibly can!

Beautiful car. E46 prices strong and fluctuating at the moment. Hope you are replacing it with something as nice. If you are not.... Sorry...

Yeah £14K seems fair. Autotrader gives a good indication but the condition varies so much, something as clean as yours will sell provided you can get the punters to turn up.

Low mileage will work in your favour too.

OK, thanks everyone for the responses.

I reckon it will go up at the top end of these figures next week and see how I go. Thankfully I dont have to sell (its just more practical for me to do so now) and so can take my time which makes a difference.

I paid top dollar for this car - the guy I bought it from would absolutely not move on price or anything - it was exactly what I wanted (colour, warranty etc) so I was prepared to pay what was asked.

A few years back I had what I considered to be one of the best E36 Evo's about - sold pretty much immediately going to the first person who saw it - he couldnt believe what a great deal he had got, I remember thinking after I should have asked more for it, but then it went to a good guy and was a hassle free sale. Want to make sure I get full value this time.

Just on a side point I looked at a ford focus the otherday from a secondhand car garage - was a pretty good example - so I offered £250 less than asking testing him out (was about 4.5k) - total refusal to budge whatsoever telling me that secondhand car prices had in fact gone up £250 this month. I remember thinking to myself what a load of b*ll0x! Next day evo mag drops through the door and what does it say in the ed speak at the start - "Now prices of used cars are actually going up (by around 10 per cent since the start of 2009)"....

Makes sense as people are not buying new cars, I think you should get good money for that car as looks very nice.

Hi Matey

I would say to keep the car but then i would , no sorry sell it , buy another car then bring the next car too me whistlegetmecoat

On a serious note you have a very clean , straight and original car there which is becoming rare now , with the right spec , colour , miles and history so stick to your asking price .

If at all possible i would really be greatfull for any form of copy of your car's photo shoot , even a scanned front page and sent by email would be great wink

Thanks Kelly

Edit to say i have had a look on the autocar's website but can't find a way of buying a back issue frown

I think you should be looking at the late thirteens to fourteen.
Ive just sold a mint 54 plate carbon black manual with all the bells and whistles 46k but only 18" alloys for £15100 to a trader.

I would look at the 14k mark; Estoril is sought after. Looks lovely and if you've looked after it as well as it appears it should be good value.

Good luck with the sale.

I reckon you should put it up for £15,500-£16,000 based on the fact it's mint!
