BMW Warranty Renewal (E60 M5)
Discussion
Just had a renewal letter from BMW.
I had to call them because it looks like the mileage is entered in their system in Km not miles so the web site would not accept my current mileage.
For an E60 M5 with 31K on the clock the Comprehensive warranty quote without breakdown assistance is:
Apparently the monthly warranty is just that, it rolls (renews) each month for as long as you want to keep the warranty. There is no annual renewal i.e. it is NOT the annual policy divided by 12.
This information may be useful to someone other than me!
Cheers,
Chris

Good point.
The rolling warranty appeals if nothing else that it is fire and forget (except for the dint in the account each month).
I'm not looking to sell but does anyone know for sure about transfer?
I haven't sorted out the paperwork yet so I don't know.
In the case of a rolling monthly warranty then (as long as the payments are made) the warranty is always up-to-date and so could a new owner pick up the payments and retain it/start a new one since the vehicle has always been warranted?
Not sure if this has been covered in another topic. Apologies if it has. If not, could we sort it out here for future reference?

Sounds the same price as or my 535d!
Im in the process of seling my car at the moment (see Pistonheads classifieds under AC Schnitzer), and I was told by the warranty people that the annual policy (ie paid for up front) is transferable but the monthly one is not.
Not sure if the new owner can take out a new monthly policy on his own back though. Im guessing so, but I may phone bmw up later to find out.

Just spoken to BMW Warranty services regarding transfering to a subsequent owner.
If you're on a pay monthly extended policy, the new owner has got until your next monthly payment is due to contact BMW to continue the policy. If this isnt done and it lapses, they will still warranty it, but under different terms (read more expensive)
Hope this helps
