e39 M5 Purchase
Discussion
Looks like I am getting an M5 next week as my work hack/daily drive - subject to a test drive on Sat Morning going ok. Cars in Carbon black, has Nav and TV, sunroof, all the usual toys which work, one owner and full main dealer history with 111k. Started the car from cold and it was wisper quiet so think its a good one. My question is, it does not have front or rear parking sensors... is this right? and if so apart from the cheap kits on Evil Bay can I retro fit BMW ones easy and without to much cost?

I could be wrong, but I thought rear parking sensors were standard on all M5s and the additional front parking sensors standard on the facelifted models...??
PDC was an option, but once facelifted, if you asked for it, you got it fron and rear. Pre and you had to ask F, R or both. S600VXR said:

I think your testing the exact same car as I am early Sat morning - not far from J11/12 M4.... Very well priced sub £10k!! They tend to sell a lot of M3's usually..Welshbeef said:

Jesus not another pointless road test , how many different cars are you thinking of buying?330D-M3-335i-M5-alfa 156 JTDSW and many more , yet still your search over the past 1yr & a half has not turned up anything for you high standards?
Reminds me of the people who used to go through estate agents to view houses just to have a free tea & biccys then slate the house. I bet all the car owners you have visited love you. Hows the old fiat coupe ? PITA

Alfa 156 JTDSW??? nope.
All owners were & always have been traders not private punters.
buy buy.... bought a 99 reg e39 a number of weeks ago, slightly older model, no sat nav or tv in centre of dash, just normal radio stuff, NO parking in front or back bumpers, start from cold a bit rough, but 1 min into heat up vry vry smooth. 99 reg is now pushing 140 on clocks, putting nearly 2k a week on her for the job, wooden change her for all the tea in china... really wooden. good luck on test drive, watch for oil at diff an usual lights on dash.

The orriginal reg that it should go back on is W881VDN although Reading Porsche are playing silly buggers with sorting this out. Hopefully get it resolved next week so I can pick it up.
