I quite like the look of this, but at 44K miles i wonder if its such a good thing. In the back of my mind i can recall other members commenting on vehicles with very low miles could actually be more hassle, as they probably have done short trips with the engine not warming up properly and therefore prematurely wearing. This could be complete tosh of course. Would welcome the opinions of the forum.
Cheers

Personally I don't see a huge benefit in low mileage cars. I'd rather buy one at whatever mileage that is in good condition and has had all the right work done. At some point that car will need the suspension and brakes renewed, plus clutch and all sorts of other bits. I'd rather someone else picked up the bill, so would look to get one with all that done.

Also, in my opinion that particular one just doesn't look very nice, but that's a matter of personal taste.

notice the red dot above the service lights? doesnt that indicate that the mileage has either been corrected or that it has either had a new ECU or clocks?

approach with caution.

Also I bought a 43K evo last year, nothing but smiles from me!!!!! just depends really, it would be worth getting a pre purchase inspection done for peace of mind.

The "red dot" is the clock symbol that means it needs a brake fluid and coolant change, and comes on every two years IIRC.

+1, colour is ok but I'm not a fan of all the AC parts.

What an odd spec. No leather or climate, but electric rear windows and £8k of ACS tat.

that looks like the clock symbol for yearly inspection.
the red dot you talk of is just below the word "miles" next to the reading.

good job the handbrake works otherwise it will be in the water behind.... hate the headlights........

I can assure you that this car has never had an ecu or new clocks, or replacement panels, paint etc. I should know as it is my car, and i bought it from its original mature owner, i know the full history of this car from day one.

I think it looks good BUT would rather chew my arm off than have that ACS stuff, looks so bling bling. They look really good in standard trim, alloys etc and certainly no DTM exhaust! IMHO only of course. Like the colour a lot.

Well it certainly appears to have been cared for and some recent major expenditure can only be a good thing.

Personally I just couldn't live with those looks, just far too "stick-on" for my tastes.

Can't think that'll be an easy sale.

Genuine low mileage is a plus and if its one of the early evo's with the aluminium doors that helps with the weight but the aftermarket bits are a minus and the lack of climate\AC is going to put alot of people off.

Is that you all done slagging my car off now???? The warp factor 9 contraption is an ipod adapter which can be removed with no damage to the dash. The headlights are the original lights with led rings which can be removed as easily as they were fitted

The original/previous owner wanted the optional Alacantra interior as the standard leather seats crack badly as i am sure you are all aware, the interior in my car is like new.Rear mudflaps where fitted to stop stone chips, wheels/exhaust were replaced with genuine Acs at great expense not DTM as someone pointed out

He didn't want climate as this is also very troublesome, the car has brand new quality suspension, brakes and a two year warranty on the twin Vanos unit it has all original panels and paint with zero rust.

I could see your point slagging off my car if it was an abused unmaintained example, this is a genuine low mileage, well maintained accident free Evo with a full BMW history, original bill of sale and all relevent paperwork/literature.
