It seems the S54 engine does very well under supercharging, which I find quite surprising.

Read about a few cars with the ESS SC kit, and haven't seen any reports of failures....some have done big mileages.

The installers, Simpson Motorsport, seem quite clued-up on things.

Can anyone share their experiences or what they've seen of a supercharged M3?

Thanks

I've had an ESS kit on my car for several years, no problems. Mine's a Vortech V2-SQ but think it may be a ASA blower on the S54's. PLenty of stuff on the ESS website to look at anyway.

I know they've had a supercharged CSL for a while too and I know the guy from Simpson ran a blower on a 3.0Z4 for a while and it worked pretty well too. CA Automotive also fit these kits and I used NS Racing in Edgeware to do mine.

I love the Q car results of a modified car and the linear characteristic of my M52 engine is retained too, just more torque everywhere.

Edited to add that it's a V2 on that car on YouTube.

I don't sell them and had mine fitted 5 or 6 years ago, when the £:$ was good.

Make some calls....

I'm also paying close attention to this kit for my Z4MC, problem is current prices are quite prohibiting at c9k or 11k euros. definitely on the cards when my warranty runs out in 07/2010 so hopefully sterling would have creaped back up to 1 to 1.5 euros by then...

Fellas.......Time to dig into your pockets.

ESS are having a group buy deal on all VT440/450 kits :

Simpsons have fitted more than 7 of these kits and they are all running well so far so i`ve decided to take the plunge as well.

Let us know your thoughts once the kit is fitted and a few drives please yes

I have been thinking for some years now to supercharge my own car , it will be a toss up between keeping my car fit a supercharger or buy the latest M3 or M5 cloud9

Its the fact that i have my own M3 exactly how i want it after many years of time and money and a supercharger would be the icing on the cake !

If i do buy a supercharger kit i will make up a step by step fitting guide with lots of photos to help others out ! wink

I`m probably very biased when it comes to boosting and have always had it "bad". This will be my 3rd supercharger after the TX-1 (for 330ci) and TS3(also for 330ci). I did the first install myself and would never do it again for just one reason.......no come back if it doesn`t work. I only had a minor issue with my first install but its really not worth it. Also the tuning will need a DME flash and rolling road tune up ( courtesy of Simpsons Motorsports). Install for the VT 450 takes a full day (8hrs)so aound 500 plus VAT.
