Hi all,

if I were to ask my local BMW dealer to remove the speed limiter on the M5 would they do it or more than likely laugh at me?

If I took it to an idenpendent garage to do it would this be likely to invalidate the warranty?

thanks

Ask yourself this; are you ever going to go 155mph+? If so, why bother?

Totally agree.

Bird's will do it, but the only plaes it would ever bother me would be an empty Autobahn early in the morning or on the Doettinger Hoehe with no traffic and a free run through with no need to go back in to the car park.

Then you were not trying hard enough...

The dealer can do it but I think you need to produce a 'race licence'

Just an on topic observation. After extensive testing, the E60 M5 limiter only kicks in at 164mph GPS verified, same as on the E39 M5, E46 M3 etc.......

How often do you want to go over 164 (showing 168 on the speedo)?
