E46 M3 Servicing Intervals
Discussion
Hi,
I'm considering changing my MkIV Golf R32 for an E46 M3. I understand the service intervals depend on driving style, but how does low mileage affect that? I only do about 3k miles a year. Does the computer decide after a while it needs a service anyway even if you haven't done many miles?
The R32 demands a service every year, which ends up costing a fair bit per mile. I'm starting to wonder whether running an M3 could even end up being cheaper (I'm guessing that's being a bit optimistic...)

Standard interval on an M3 is 15000 miles.
I only do low miles 6000 p.a but since the last oil change around 14 months ago the miles left until next oil service are around 2800.
As regard to running costs, always depends on your driving style etc
well 18-22 mpg. Tyres around 240 a corner. Insureance ?.

BMW say every 2 years if you dont do the milage but i would do it evey year to be safe just oil filter.......
I agree, although i would go further and say that the next specified service should be done after a year. Its a highly tuned engine, and should be treated as such.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
