It's arrived.....

woohoo

Silverstone II M5......Absolute beauuuuuuty..

Drove it home like miss daisy in 400 bhp mode, couple more days or should that be weeks when I've become one with the SMG box....not even tried the POWER button yet, will have some wet wipes ready for when I do!

Why on earth did I leave it so long to get one!!!?

Car was spot on....though could have been cleaned better inside, couldn't really complain though at the price I paid...

Was originally an BMW AUC back in early June this year, so still with the must have warranty etc...

Only one little problem I noticed when I got home frown

The mesh is missing on the rear bumper....only spotted it when I got home..not overly noticeable but still....

Any suggestions where I can get it replaced quickly?

Will post some pics as soon as I can....

Roll on the weekend for a hoon.... driving

I would recommend M5board.com and ''mtorque'' http://www.mtorque.co.uk/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

Both are an excellent knowledge base. I will look forward to the pics as they come and your increasing review of the car as the miles go on. I would love you - you're a lucky man.

Congrats on the purchase thumbup

Now have a word with DMS for an extra 50 Gee Gee's, and not limiter. I know it doesn't need it, but it's cause you can wink
I had mine tweaked and the mid range difference is huge!

And can anyone tell me how best to clean the black glossy trim in between the windows? Do I just clean and use normal polish?

Hi,

Is this is the car from car options lrd, i went to have a look wasnt really imressed with the service history and you will also notice the missing locking nuts!!

The warranty does not count if you have bought from a trader!

Thanks

Yeah the locking nuts are missing in the boot, but for the price I took it, couldn't really complain....shopping for the wheel nuts this weekend...

As for the service history, went to Halliwell Jones as is was classed as their car cos they bought the original dealership where it originated...

All the service history was brought up on screen including when it was sold by them in May this year as an AUC car, and they've stamped the book up to date for me at 32k miles...

As for the warranty, didn't buy it from Car options, bought it off the previous owner direct in the end who transferred the warranty for me as it was a private sale wink

My friend bought an E39 M5 from an independent dealer, with the usual three month warranty that doesn't really cover that much.

The car then had a problem that wasn't covered by the warranty, so he took it to the BMW dealer for repair.

They told him that the car still had two months BMW warranty left to run and that the repair was covered, they did all the paperwork to change the warranty into his name and only charged him the admin fee of £30 or something.

At no point did they ask him where he bought the car.

Nice car bye the way, berry100. If I ever buy one of these that will be the colour I'll get, with black leather.

Update!!!!

Went for a blast in the M5 earlier tonight and finally tried the M power button, had it set up with DSC - ON, EDC - Sport and P500 Sport....WOWWWWWWW woohoo

Struggled to get to grips a bit with the SMG in 2nd to 3rd but then after that was smooth enough, but crikey doesn't it fly!!!! took it up to the redline in 3rd then once in 4th ended up backing off paperbag

Just need to build the confidence in how it handles now....but unbelievable how it still pulls at silly leptons...
