M3 E46 Sat nav/tv H&K

Hi all,

I'm looking @ buying a E46 M3 02 plate. It has the sat/nav widescreen tv but doesnt say anythign about having the Harmon Kardon system upgrade. Now someone told me if the car has the sat nav/tv then it comes with the H+K as standard? is this correct!?

If not how easy is it to install all the H&K bits!? anyone have a parts list!? is it just plug &play or is it a case of wiring!?

Also how much effort to install the electric rear blind!?

Anybody reccommend a good breakers where i can sopurce these parts!?

HK is an upgrade of its own, nothing to do with sat nav, T.V. You can have these without the HK upgrade.
Fitting HD yourself i would guess to be a big job as there are several extra speakers and then amps.

Where can i get a service schedule from!?tomake sure the history of the car is in line with what BMW say?

Make sure the car has had it's 1200 mile running in service done, This is most important!
Then servicing is usually around 10-15,000 miles, but the car will work this out as times will vary depending on driving style. i.e motorway miles will mean 15k service intervals where short enthusiastic trip will be shorter intervals.
Check service receipts and a stamped book to check these have been done.
A point to note, the insp 2 service is not cheap so try and get one where this has been done.

The HK system really is awful, wouldn't bother, spend the money on some decent aftermarket stuff instead

also make sure it had the engine upgrade if its a pre june 2003 car or you could be spending more than you every thought possible

you get a m3 to drive 4 get the sound system listen to that enging whail at 8k and as for sat nav get a tom tom, rear blinds???? are you kidding me . get the best condition lowest mileage you can and 4 get the rest just get in an drive it...totally awsome
