Just to let you guys no the Z4m has a recall just announced, when the battery is installed apparently its sitting on the wiring to the fuel pump, the car will be needed for an hour or so to re route the wiring to the fuel pump, mines pretty much tucked away for winter now so i'll get mine done when she comes out of hibernation. Has anyone had this done yet?

Thanks for the tip-off. Not heard anything as yet. I'll post when I do. Is it fix ASAP or when next at the dealer?

Cheers

This would explain the letter I got from BMW with no stamp on it - £1.27 to pay at the post office.

I refused it because I thought they were trying to sell me something hehe

it applies to all M cars, also i dont no if anyone else had this problem but when i was filiing my car up on most occations it would just spirt out instead of cutting off, ive seen a few Ms with this stain down the petrol cap and im assuming its happened to a couple of people, i got the filler kneck changed under warranty, and hey presto, no more spitting out expensive petrol when brimming the tank.

my dealer also said their may be an up coming recall for the powersteering hoses, as their have been many cars with vibrating, whining Power steering caused by a PS hose not allowing enough fluid through, and giving symptoms as if the fluids low!!! i personally havent got this fault, but he did say hes waiting for the notice to come through on this one but BMW are aware of this issue.

whats more alarming bmw dont seem to be making much effort to contact z4m owners!! why??

What annoys me is, BMW fixed the problem on the production line in September 2006. Therefore they knew about it. But only announce a recall now.
I assume they like to wait and see how many people break down before they spend some money.

It was dated Oct 06 smile however you would have expected to hear before now if your car was affected.
