Looking to swap/trade my Z3 Mcoupe for an early E46 M3
Discussion
I've put an ad in the classifieds but I was wondering what people thought of this idea??? It looks like the E46 cabs are now in the right price bracket and there's plenty of them around.... I dunno, it might work for someone.
So I've had my pristine M coupe for a year now and I completely love it. So why am I selling it? Well I don't want to. In fact what I want is a slightly bigger version with 4 seats. I've tried piling my 3 children into the boot but it doesn't seem right, particularly under braking when Esme, my one year old, ends up in the passenger side footwell. Anyone reading this from a child welfare agency needs to be made aware that I'm being witty so as to draw attention to my advert and lighten up this, usually-dull, for sale commentary! So my plan is to run this ad and see if any E46 M3 cab, owner who obviously has done a few miles and has a comparable car, would consider some kind of trade. Don't know what or how yet but I thought I'd start with this before I sell mine proper.
Topline details on my car are:
Estoril Blue
1999
65k
Original car with full service history.
Brand new front 'M' disks and pads. All genuine BMW parts.
Refurbished calipers all round.
New tyres, Mich Pilot Sport rears and Pirelli fronts.
Blue two-tone interior completely mint! no cracks in the leather, always cleaned and treated.
Upgraded Becker stereo with ipod link and sat nav.
Heated seats
Cruise control
Upgraded HID lights and side lights.
All together a stunning example.
So basically I'm looking for a swap, dealer or private, for an E46 M3 cab. I'll consider any colour, miles, spec.
Thanks for looking! Anyone you guys know out there who could be up for it then I'd love to hear from them.
cheers folks.

mmm yeah, cheers Rags. I'll try that... Amazing how the market for M3's is sliding. I have a mate who runs an independent Porshce dealership and he's been advised to only take M3's on trade-in to the tune of 30% lower that the guide... I suppose we'll all have to sell our cars one day, and buy folding bikes!
I know, I love the modern classic thing and you're right depreciation proof. It's just that I drove along a jam-packed M25 last Friday beside an M3 cab, 4 up.... I dunno, maybe it was just really well waxed... brilliant gloss tyre dressing!.... it looked brilliant.
That's what started me on this idea. I'll change my mind again next week I bet...

Nice ZMC by the way - just looked at your ad.
Its got the full spec and in the best colour.
I currently have a e46 M3 Cab with LSB/LSB combo. Its a great car - have put 30k miles on it in 2years. If you go looking for a cab I would factor in a little bit of extra maintenace cost over the coupe for hood issues. Check for any noisy hydraulics esp and test the hood mechanism.
Hard top is great and eliminates the scuttle shake you occasionally get when fitted.
Wind deflector is good as well. You dont get ruffled hair up to about 90 apparently. Saying that without the deflector and windows up you dont get ruffled anyway and can still listen to the stereo at speed.
