E24 M635CSi Motorsport Special Edition

I understand that there was a Motorsport Special Edition towards the end of the E24's life with 292bhp. Does anyone have any more details of what was different about these cars? This is taken from the June 2001 BMW Car magazine in the UK. It reports that there were 12 of these cars imported to the UK.

Well reading between the lines here they do indeed exist and one of them is owned by someone who isn't particularly 'liked' by some of those who have met him on the forum in this link!

Ha ha - that's funny. I saw some of those threads; you can't be too precious about these things. It's a privilege to own a rare machine, certainly not something to get smug about.

No one has mentioned the actual engine mods that allowed the increase in bhp. Am interested in finding out.
