Anyone had to replace their Z3 M coupe air con condenser?

Just been told that it'll cost me £560 to replace the condenser and a 'pipe'....

Now I'm no spanner merchant but I may have chanced upon a used one from a guy on ebay who's breaking up a Coupe.

Don't touch it with a barge pole? Buy an after market one from somewhere? Easy to fit myself....????

Could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Any advice welcome.

buying an untested one may back fire unless you have seen it working...presume it was a rear impact.

after market ones are ok...just depends who from....

you need to ensure the ac is fully discharged before opening it.....also if it is open to atmosphere even with a pin hole the dryer is pretty much usless as it absorbs moisture. So a new one is likely (aboout £25)

I had mine done by aircon direct, they are in Gravesend but are mobile, so ask them if they go out to you. They use an M3 condenser but cut one of the mounts off. I was going to do the job myself, but the condenser alone was nearly as much as it cost to do the lot and re-charge it! I paid half what you have been quoted. They also sorted a pump problem on a neighbours merc on recommendation, that merc quoted three time the amount for
