Does anyone know the location of this as i have looked but cant find it! 1998 m3 evo

Basically i was changing down gear on a dual carriageway after giving it quite a bit and she started back fireing and eventually cut out so recovery was needed as the AA didnt have a clue.

I didnt have any warning lights and now she wont start.

Going to check the fuel pump again as i dont trust the AA but apart from various sensors, has anyone had any experiences like this?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the short un-detailed thread

As you look at the car from the front with bonnet open, its a round plug with a screw top cover just behind the suspension turret on the left.

Ahh i know the one you mean, i have stripped out the n/s and o/s trim because for some reason i thought i read in the past it was there.

thanks alot.

Also just adding to this post, does anyone know where the manual switch is for resetting the fuel pump e.t.c say if you had a crash? Just a thought that someone had mentioned to me as i now know the fuel pump runs if i put power to it manually (even though the aa said it was running) but also have no ignition!

any comments welcome

thanks
