What are the engine mods you've eventually swap into your new M3 coupe'? What are the best (and more reliable) mods to get another 30/40 hp out of the V8 engine and who are the best tuners around?

Sorry, I'm relatively new on M3 planet...(I've always been a Griffith guy...)bounce

Everyone is still new to the M3 V8 and at this point there probably isn't a best tuner out there.

I have only heard of 2-5 cars so far that have been dyno tested. Not much development going on just yet.

There are a couple of excellent air intake systems out there which along with exhaust systems and ECU remaps.

It is believed that remapping the ECU will get you around an addition 15-20 bhp at most (which sounds very realistic). However, replacing the CATS and exhaust with something with less restriction is also rumoured to give very good gains.

At the moment I have the eisenmann 'race' catback which perfectly improves the sound but I'm not sure about the perfermance...i wanted to get the mid area exhaust from supersprint (decatted) but i was afraid to let anyone touch the ecu sistem without a hard guarantee of success...i was looking into the Mgruppe intake as well, but i guess the key factor here is the ecu sistem, Gforce seems to offer something for a 25hp increase, anyone has a direct experience with their products?

I'm looking at changing the exhaust, but purely for sound improvement rather than performance.

How do you find the eisenmann 'sport' catback PANIC ? I don't want anything too boomy on the motorway, just want to free up some noise at the lower end of the rev range, as it is lovely over 5krpm, but too quiet below there.

This is a youtube link to my car with a short video sprinting on the motorway (changes at around 6.000 rpms...), the sound is pretty round, loud but not too loud, it gives the engine the 'visibility' it deserves...

The Einsemenn Race sounds nice in other YouTube videos, found your one the recording was very quiet.. but might be my PC.

Is it a bolt-on unit, or hack the old one off job ?

Getting a bonus next month, so looking to do it soon... biggrin

It's a near bolt unit, you need to cut the muffler from the old exhaust and fix the new one, quite an easy operation though.

The sound is quite round, pretty loud at wop and somehow gives the arrogant presence the M3 deserves...

Go for it...
