Now I'm not normally one for crazy colours but I just saw an incredible purple M5 in Attleborough, Norfolk, and it was absolutely stunning.

If it wasn't parked up in the barry-boy frontage of the local posers bar I'd have wandered over to check it out...

Anyone know what that colour is called/link to a picture?

Scarab or Sepia (although I think there's only 1 Sepia E39 in the UK) possibly.

Or Velvet Blue.

Not sure how to do the link, but in the M5 classified section on here, there is a Velvet Blue one being sold by a company called Burnley Road Car Sales. It's about half way down the second page.

There's certainly only one Sepia Violet E39 530i Sport in the UK.

Techno Violet is another purple shade offered by BMW.

Here's the one Sepia 530i Sport: Clicky

I don't think those pics do the colour justice. There's an E60 530d in the same colour which shows off the way it seems to change: Clicky

If there really are only 10 E39s in Sepia though, it's unlikely to be that, surely?

Can you imagine trying to get hold of a touch up pen for that thing.

Apparently the chap who's selling the Sepia E39 paint cars professionally, so I imagine it would be in pretty good condition if you were to buy it now biggrin

It was an M5...

None of those pictures seem to be it, but then it might only work properly in the flesh...

Which shape M5? This one's a Touring but it's very obviously purple: Clicky. Was it an E34 you saw, because I believe Daytona Violet was a standard colour on those.

ETA - it's in the thread title, ignore me... doh.

Would take about five minutes, get the colour code, make the paint..

I suspsect it was Velvet Blue you saw, I'd also guess it had Champagne leather as every Velvet M5 I've seen (only 3!) had this interior combination and it is quite stunning.

Mark's Sepia E39 is stunning - as said, he's a painter by trade so doesn't have problems getting the paint!

Anyone that has the facility and the colour code database could make it smile

My father does it as part of his business.
