Just had mine fitted - best mod I've ever done, transforms the car. Thoroughly recommended.

There was a recall on the E36`s.... but there is still lots that haven`t been done....
Don't think there was. It's not a safety thing it's somthing that was discovered and can be changed if you want or not.

Recall or not, I very much recommend it. The car is so different to drive. Well worth it.

Bexley motor sport or a good hunt round ebay. It does raise the biting point, in my case very noticeably which means goodbye to any problems of engaging first when hot. Well worth it IMO.

I've just test driven an 98 Evo with 90k and the biting point was really low. Also it feels a bit harsh changing gear in 1st, 2nd and 3rd - would this mod solve this or is there something more serious at fault?

Most probably yes, although I would check to see if and when it's had a new clutch aswell.

From my experience the braided hose helps, but if you are still getting drag on the box after the upgrade, id be looking at the clutch, ensure the gearbox has had a nice filling of fresh oil, and if that doesn’t sort it, well you don’t need me to point out what’s at fault.

Most M3's I’ve owned have had the clutch replaced between 60-80K, but if they’ve been looked after I’ve seen them last over 100K.

The issue I’ve found with M3's is that when people drive the car hard they snatch 2nd and 3rd, and as the gearboxes are prone to a weak syncro on 2nd, you get the notchy feel.

Virtually every one of my cars for 40K up to 100K at date of purchase had notchy 2nd year compare to other cars, but most E36 models suffer from this issue in my opinion.

Ironically, my E46 has notchy 2nd and 3rd ;0( ho hum.

I've done this mod its much better drive, engages halfway now and not on the floor, My hose didnt come with a adaptor for the switch. Dose anyone know what its for or why the ECU needs to know if the clutch is in or not? I've just bypassed it. all seems to work so far.

Isn't it a great mod? Cheap and effective. Sod the switch, doesn't seem to make any difference to anything.
