hi guys, this is my 1st visit to the PH forum site. have had my z4mc since feb, its got 10k on the clock and is due its "oil service" very soon.
i know one of the bmw mechanics at the local BMW dealership, he has offered to do the service for me. my question is whether or not to go through the dealer officially or let him do it on the side?
will it still class as a "fbmwsh"??

only if you get the stamp. I doubt it as it needs to be entered on the BMW/Dealer service record computer too.

If not using the main dealer, to keep the warranty intact the service must be carried out by a vat registered garage. So a BMW mechanic working on the side would not count, unless he has some way of entering the service on the vehicles record on the BMW computer.

You should only be paying circa £200 for oil service.

Any cheaper by providing your own oil? Found there was a saving to be had by providing my own oil (even if it the same oil they use).

Douglas Park near Glasgow. They haven't always been brilliant but they came up trumps this time.
