Sell me your Z4M coupe????
Discussion
I’m currently looking for a BMW Z4M coupe, must be fewer than 20K miles and have Sat Nav, consider most colours expect Red.
I’m willing to pay a fair price for the car; I will pay more than you’ve been offered by the trade, but less than dealer prices. So a fair price for a private sale.
Cash at the ready and looking to deal within the next 7 days
If interested, contact me on 07720844346

What could I replace my Z4M Coupe with? I test drove a 997 Carrera S a couple of months back. It's a very nice car but when I got back in my Z it felt much more special (my sports exhaust helps). Each to his own I guess :-)
Good luck finding one, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. It's more fun than the 996 you are also looking at (Porsche forum) but the 996 is probably a "nicer" daily drive.

I would be kinda interested as my z4m is used as a second car and it's garaged up in a lockup miles from where I stay. I live in the centre of town so it's not a good idea leaving a car like that around. Until I move this is the situation
It's a high spec with only 1700 miles on the clock and totally mint.. However I cannot think of anything I'd replace for the money and the spec and colour I wanted may not come round again. Decisions..Decisions
Good luck you will not be disappointed. It feels so much quicker than my previous E46 M3 ever did.

More special, are you being serious, don't get me wrong I loved my Z4M for the 8months i had it, looked and handled beautifully but in NO WAY did it ever feel more special than a 997 C2S, miles behind in terms of refinement and quality, it went like stink but the hardest car it was by far the hardest car I have ever had to live with, rattled like a bd and was hugely uncomfortable on anything more than 1hr journeys, even round a track a 997C2s would have it hands down, mate you are comparing one of the very best sports cars with something that was designed to take on a boxster

Mate, I dunno about UK track days, but at the Ring, the Z4MC runs rings around the 997C2S (pun intended). With 888s fitted it easily keeps up with CSLs. The car is also faster than a C27S in a straight line when de-limited...I agree with you about quality and comfort, but if you were looking for these in a Z4MC at 1/2 of the price of a 997C2S - you bought the wrong car from the outset...
No, but I was looking for the quality of a 48k car which is what mine cost when new and it was definitely not there, disagree on the speed thing, C2s everytime, anyone can change to sticky tyres but you can't argue with the inherent handling finesse of a C2s, stick a Z4m and a 997 C2s on the same tyres and the C2s would win every time

You paid 37k for yours, so I don't really see your point...With regards to speed - unlike you, I have actually had my car on the autobahn against the following: 997C2S, 996GT3, 996C4S,E46 M3, E60 M5 and E39 M5. Some of them were a lot quicker, others less so, but prrlease, don't even for think for a second that the 997 was amongst them.
I am not arguing with the handling finesse of the 997. My agricultural 928 racer is on average 25 seconds a lap quicker than the sublime handling French VLN 968 racer around the Ring. Handling as you should know from your racing does not necessary equal speed...
what I paid is immaterial, the point is it was a 48k car, 49k actually and the build quality was cr*p and that is what I was saying, even at 37k it was below par. I have actually been on track wiht a 997 C2s and my Z4M at the same time and the C2s is without doubt the faster car, any tw*t can drive in a straight line and tyres aside, I'll willingly stand by my comments, the 997C2s is the faster car
Sorry Taffyracer, looks like we are not going to agree on this one. Sounds like your old Z4M had some quality problems. Mine has been fine. I completly agree that the Porsche is better for distance driving and more refined (isn't the plastic around the sat nav cheap though) but underneath probably better quality. Because the Z is a more compromised car (snug inside, more raw) that's why I prefer it (must be years of Caterham and various Elises). I'm no stranger to track days but a 997C2S is not really a faster car on circuit. They're pretty simular with the Z4MC (although you don't see too many).
To be honest, I knew I'd be in a minority saying it. Like I said, each to his own. I'm in no way knocking Porsche as I'll probably replace my Z4MC with a 997 GT3. The C2S didn't make me want to change my Z.

Not calling anyone names, it wasn't directed at you, i was just making the point that anyone can do straightline stuff and it doesn't really tell a story of anything material. I loved my Z4M but I am a car lover but yes the quality side really eeked me and forced me to sell if i'm honest, the handling is genuinely world class but so is the 997 C2s and IMHO if both were on decent rubber the C2s would win hands down due to its extra composure and better engineered chassis, i'd still have another Z4M though but would get the roadster.
Hi Cheburator,
How are you finding the 888's, any reason why you don't use Michelin cups for track. Over the last few weeks I've been to Snetterton, Donnington, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch so my tyres are sh*gged. I'm at Spa later this year so will visit the ring while I'm over.

It's a shame Porsche don't do a C2S club sport. A kind of half way between a GT3 and a lighterweight C2S. Maybe I only say this because the 997 GT3 is still expensive. I'm very tempted to get Recaro Pole position bucket seats and harnesses in my Z4MC. I'm coming out of my seat under hard braking (RS29's). But if a nice GT3 comes up..........................?
I'm not sure it really matters which is fastest - I think it would be a close run thing either way (surprising given the huge price disparity.) The fact which can't be denied however is that the Z4MC is by far and away the rarer of the 2 cars - I don't expect that a CS2 would turn any heads (not that I care about that sort of thing!)
