who do you insure your e36 m3 with?
Discussion
A-Plan.... sponsers of the forum. Have to say, I've been very very impressed with them. I needed temporary cover for the Z4 whilst running the M3, wasn't a problem. Number plate changes etc were easily dealt with. They are especially competitive if your car is highly tuned (supercharger etc).

Have been down this road as well. The problem is that you cannot use NCD from first car on your second, and run both. So, i ended in the strange position of being able to insure a 3.0 with Lynbrook Insurance on a classic policy, 5K miles per year for £380.00, but if i use all my NCD from my daily car and put it on the M3 i can get it for £290!Thats with Swiftcover. Thing is i dont want to run the m3 on a daily basis. More head scratching.
Elephant for me. Everywhere else is more than £1500 despite being aged 32 and several years NCB. My problem is the car lives on the street in SW17. But despite that, Elephant quoted £821 this year. First time I've ever renewed with the same company!
Experiment with the quote too. Adjust the excess, add your mum or dad onto your policy. Adding the old man last year knocked over £40 off the price.

I've just insured my '97 M3 Evo Coupe with Admiral.
I'm 37, have full no claims, car parked on drive, live in Shropshire.
I paid £386 fully comp with protected bonus, I even managed to keep the voluntary excess down to £150. Putting the Mrs as a named driver helped, I reckon she was worth about £150.
I had been quoted a similar price by Elephant but voluntary excess was £500.
I had previously been with LV but to renew again was £543, I paid £502 last year.
It is worth a couple of hours on-line checking a few companies, it could be the best £/hour you ever get.
In my experience insurance companies like to know what type of cars you have previously owned when you are looking for a quote on your newly purchased high performance car for the first time.
