smg gear selection probs
Discussion
What model of M car is it sir. I had similar problems with my e36 SMG and never got to the bottom of it. BMW main agents were saying that i needed a new gearbox but the loss of gears was jumping all over the place (sometimes 2nd, sometimes 4th, sometimes none). I've since converted the car to a `regular` manual and - touch wood - the car has been 100% perfect since.
i have just bought a 2002 e46 m3 smg and i have got to say it fullfills the expectation of every desire a keen driver could have on the road, when dishing out all 343bhp through S6 mode. whilst at the same time, catering for the most relaxed serene drive in auto mode u could ask for. lets face it guys, auto mode is not as smooth as lets say a range rover but if u want comfort and relaxation combined with tranquility then why are u sitting in a M3?
i have to say, i truly beleive that this car is one of the best, and most diverse, versitile cars on the market and owning one at 24 years old has made me the happiest LITTLE BOY in the world!
