It's well noticeable a crispier engine sound and response from the new M3 when the 'power' button is pressed BUT is it there also a real power increase or is it only the 'way' power and torque are delivered?

I must admit since the roads have been a bit drier I've started playing with the buttons alot more. However I've not noticed a noticeablee increase in torque or performance only a faster response to acceleration pedal movements and the noise from the pipes.

If there is someone with more knowledge then please enlighten us....

No extra power. Just the throttle map changes to give quicker butterfly deflection

Yep what he said. Unlike the E60 M5 with the P500 (power button) the E92 M3 just changes to a different DME map.
