My "new" M3 EVO
Discussion
Picked up my new car yesterday afternoon and its brilliant. I did not realise how much i would miss having an M3 EVO after selling my last one in February to a fellow PistonHeader.
She has done 53,000 miles, 1 owner from new, 19inch Hartge Classics running 265 wide rubber at the rear, EVO2 exhaust, Hartge Short shifter, steering wheel and pedals. The condition is fantastic.

Firstly some new brakes - going on track next month so need to uprate those.
Then sorting out all the bodywork and a refurb for the wheels, new bootlid minus spoiler.
Having a conversation with some guys in the know this weekend around ditching the Vanos, want to see what's possible there.
Your new one looks awesome! Any plans for it?

I think I will start with the basics. Strut brace front and rear, chassis brace, bush limiting kit.
I'm not sure if I should just change the springs or change the dampers for coilovers.
The company that have always serviced my BMW(s) (Birds) were selling it on behalf of one of their customers that moved to Singapore in 2003. Birds have been looking after it ever since. The guy that owned it had it up for sale through Birds for a really silly price. I went in low and got it.

Spill the beans then! I am interested to know what 'Silly price' is these days for a low mileage Evo as I bought one with 37k on it a few years back.I'm not sure if I should just change the springs or change the dampers for coilovers.

Don't ditch the vanos. It'll be locked open and your car will only be any good on the track at high revs. It'll be a bh to drive on the road and have no low down poke at all.
Some people ditch it rather than repair a failed unit but that's something to consider as and when and if rather than from the outset. A failed vanos won't harm your engine so you don't need to be pre-emptive

good value bearing its pedigree, absolute stunning. Anyone know where I can get a replacement vadar headrest or a specialist trimmer.
You'll find these advertising in the car club magazine or any edition of BMWcar magazine.M3J.
