hi to everyone i am new here, i just wanted some advice on buying a 2004 e46 m3 smg convertible, black with red leathers,70,000 miles, £21,000 anything which i should look out for.

dadofbud how much you think this car is worth, it has no satnav, 18" alloys, but a good service history from a specialists

That car is worth £18k and no more!

I sold a 53 convertible with 28k miles (manual, not sat nav, 19" wheels) for £21,300 in January. Paoloh is right, for those miles it is well below £20k.

Good luck with the search - there are plenty of good cars out there.

Don't let big mileages put you off - many of the guys on the forums have cars over 100k and they're still going strong. However, don't pay too much for cars with stellar mileages or basic options... and avoid anything with a poor service history!

Ideally, pick something up that is either a BMW AUC or a good private car that has the BMW extended warranty on it. That way you'll be covered if anything does go wrong and you'll be able to extend the warranty for as long as you keep the car (up to 100k). smile
