Where are people buying theirs? Might be re-badged as Castrol Edge (not the RS or Sport)

Dealers want £15 a litre = £120 for 8L. Ha ha ha!

So far 8L is going for about £80 from Opie Oils but im sure there must be cheaper. Ebay occasionally has some good bargains but its not guaranteed.
Im currently running mobil 1 0W 40 which is too thin really as its burning a fair bit.

Used these people a few times for TWS 10w60 before being told by my BMW dealer I should be using Castrol SLX as my E39 M5 was made after March 2000.

Looking at your steering wheel I'd say you've got a facelift car as well?

I have not heard of the SLX option although I have read you can use Castrol 5W 30.
I would prefer to stick to the TWS - and yes it is a post March '00. Built in Setpember.

TBH that place you posted is actually more expensive than Opie.

I now see that the SLX is 5W 30. Gotcha.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I find it astonishing that people running £40K plus cars are worried about how they can save a couple of quid on oil. Most M3's will do what, 10K per year, so we are talking about roughly £15 per year? I suppose we all have different outlooks but seems mad to go to all the trouble of sourcing your oil from different places when in my experience I got my local dealer to do it at around £11 per litre once I got to know them..

I got about 12l for £100 delivered... from a Germany ebay guy.

That was before the exchange rate crashed through the floor though..

The engine in my E39 M5 has covered almost 200k miles. I stopped running it on TWS 168,000 miles ago. I used bog standard Edge 10w60 that I get from the rather helpful chaps at Opie Oil.

I am yet to read/see a single piece of evidence that says that TWS is 'better' in any quantitive way that the oil I get.

Is Edge not the renamed TWS? The TWS only stands for ten W sixty.
