At the moment, and for another 27k miles you will have the 'less expensive' warranty. Hit 60k miles as you know and it goes up to £1500 if memory serves?

I know that only you can make such a decision but a couple of factors would help me.
Firstly, how long are you planning on keeping it? A BMW warranty will add 1k to any private sale asking price.
If you plan on keeping it for some time then maybe its not worth it. The flipside to that is that should anything major happen you're covered.
I chose not to renew for £1800 and have a 'slush fund' set aside for any repairs, servicing and all car related bills really.

I know you cannot predict mechanical problems but some cars just seem to have a few gremlins. Things seem to keep cropping up with the car needed regular visits to the dealer. This is where a warranty would be ideal.
Some cars do amazingly well and dont have any problems at all.
You seem to establish your own level of confidence and 'feel' to the car to whether she'll let you down.

The desicion - as they say - is yours.
