I want to stiffen and lower my M3 Evo saloon but I can't afford coilovers (so please don't say they're the only way to go). There seem to be loads of lowering springs around - what's the best set and what effect will they have? TIA.

Make the car look cool but ruin the ride in my experience.

Cheers Frik. Ride doesn't bother me at all. Any suggestions for the best set?

How old is the car and how many miles has it done bud? By now most E36s suspension will be well past it's best so putting a set of lowering springs on the car isn't exactly a good idea in my opinion of course!

I would go for a set of Eibach Pro. Lower the car about 20mm IIRC.
As long as you have the standard wheels (17inch) not something bigger then ride quality shouldnt be too bad.
Dont go for the Eibach 'Sports' or your fillings will fall out.

I used eibach springs on mine, ride is fine.

The biggest advantage i found was that some of the body roll was lost, i much prefer the way the car drives now.

Stiffening the suspension up will highlight any parts of it that are worn, so I'd advise checking over top mounts before you do it.

Cheers guys, I'll hunt for some good ones, probably Eibach, and take it from there.
