Hi, I had the mirror glass stolen from my E46 M3 the other day. Managed to find replacement glass on e-bay (probably from the person who stole it wink) but when I came to fit it I found that the plastic backing which the glass sticks on to has been snapped off. This plastic screws on to the motor mechanism.

Just had BMW parts quote me £130 for a replacement actulator which includes this piece of plastic.

Does anybody have any cost effective suggestions?
Thanks!

Not surprised given the cost of the part from BMW - about £150 for a piece of glass...

Just had a closer look at this and the extra bunch of wires with nowhere to plug in suggests that some other part is missing. Can anybody advise what I need in addition to the glass? Is it the motor mechanism?

The reason for them being so expensive is because they are auto dimming and heated.
Still silly though. I was told that BMW have real trouble removing the glass (for a wing mirror respray) as it nearly always cracks. I think they should employ Mr tea-leaf.

Speak to the guys at Eurocarparts and see what they can do for you, regarding a replacement.
