Hi all
over from the tuscan forum with a question.

had a conversation with a guy on site who has just taken ownership of a new E92.
He is understandably chuffed to bits with it, apart from one issue.
it seems that the traction is not working as it should.
the rear end keeps kicking out on it and this weekend he had a full spin out on a straight!!
BMW dealer have said there are no fault codes, however, the owners manual has not arrived yet, so could it be that it has left the showroom incorrectly set up?
Could it be thatthere is something wrong??
he has previously owned m3's so is no stranger to the wonders of BMW.

I await your answers..............

(I dont know what traction is!!!, apart from the diesel audi of course)

The car has all sorts of settings/adjustability built into it's various 'safety net systems' which means that, within limits, you can set the car up to give you as little or as much assistance as you want. Maybe, without the aid of the handbook, your friend has unwittingly chosen a setting where, on an imaginary chart, the reduction in assistance line has crossed the ' driving talent' line?wink

Even with everything 'off' the new M3 is sooooooooo controllable IMHO.

If all the orange lamps near the gearstick are OFF and he is spinning on a straight without playing for it, it is not a M3 but a TVR biglaugh
