My M3 needs some work doing to the VANOS, can anyone recommend a specialist in the Portsmouth/Hampshire area?

Many thanks

Bartley BMW in Southampton, E-Tech Motorsport in Havant or Brystone in Southampton.

Have you any experience of either? The one in Havant is particularly convenient as it's very near to where I live.

I am a little concerned that going to a specialist will down value the car. This is important as I am considering selling it over the next few months. The VANOS unit is being replaced purely so that I can get the best value when I sell it.

I think the general view (that I share) is that I'd rather get a specialist with a reputation to protect and the nouce to set up their own business, than a BMW kid on their first day in the job.

BMW know how precious the FBMWSH is and tend to price things accordingly.

I've experience of Brystone, they did a top job oif servicing the M3, only reason i don't use them any more is that its simply too far.

I would use a good specailist...I say that because I work in the dealer network....The best of us have or will start a specialist.

Any of those three come wih a 5* rating. FBMWSH means nothing today, I would rather buy a car with a stack of bills from a specialist than a car with a stamped log book and bugger all else! If you sell the car back to BMW they should not punish you on price for servicing elsewhere...if they do give Trading Standards a ring....that is enough to scare BMW UK!
