As above, is the E36 M3 gear know illuminiated as in the E46?

If not, then I plan to fit when I find an Evo... I assume it will fit ok? I had it in my Z4 and it transforms the gear change.. good weight and much shorter.

I know these are in short demand, but can you buy them in the UK anywhere?

Digging deep in the memory banks here, I thought it was an option on the E36, not standard fit.

Not illuminated as standard but easy to retrofit. Just wire it into the little light in the ashtray.

Thanks guys...

I am not bothered.. just didn't want to get rid of it if it had it already.

Think I'll go for the above knob then, it really does transform the shift.. well in the Z4 anyway. I've emailed them to make sure it's fits.

If you want a bespoke weighted gearknob to mate to a shortshift kit you could do a lot worse than storm motorwerks http://www.storm-motorwerks.com/

I got an illuminated gear knob put in on my E36 M3.

Knob £51.07
Adhesive £6.62
Socket £0.85

Total £64.86

You can get it done for cheaper I'm sure about that. It was done by STEPHEN JAMES BMW ENFIELD just before Christmas. I think it looks the business.
