After about 3.000 miles i have made a personal summary of the pros and cons of the new M3, here is my very personal list:

Cons:

Weak push below 3.000rpms
Crap idle sound
Weight
Not enough rubber for the 19' wheels

Pros:

Good push and sound of engine over 3.500rpms
Beautiful exterior design
neat interior and good rear sets space

What are your first miles experiences?

The E46 was very weak below 3000rpm, maybe I got used to it since the E92 feels much stronger - and I've not run in yet so haven't pushed it too much, or pressed M. 4000rpm is about the max I've been in 1st, the rear dug in and it felt pretty quick.

Maybe the kick after 4000 is so good that below it pales into insignificance (I've got to wait 800 miles to find out). biggrin

Only 1500 mls so far didn't explore above 6000 rpm

Good:
Perfect balance between performance and usuability
Perfect balance between performance and usuability (bis)
Perfect balance between performance and usuability (ter)
Feels well planted on the road
MDM already playing at 4000 rpm in second gear, short turn
Gearbox precise and efficient when trashed
Massive visual presence (having followed another one in the traffic)

Bad
Gearbox notchy when not trashed
NOT enough head space (I am 1.87 cm and touching the roof)
Ridiculous engine noise at idle (for a V8)
Stupid electronic oil gauge
Disappointing design of the engine bay (the airbox is so big, you miss the V shape, when compared to aston, maserati,...)

I will update with time
