Not un locking

Seems to be a problem with my E46 M3 the car does not want to unlock. I dont think its the fob battery as I press lock and it makes a noise, also boot will open.Also noticed recently the unlock button on the centre console has been playing up.

Mine's just starting doing the same.

Will lock OK. Boot unlocks ok.

Sporadically, more often than not now, it won't unlock on the fob.

Neither will it unlock all doors on the key, or indeed using the internal button.

Going to replace the Central Locking relay and see what happens.

BMW dealer = completely useless. Told me to change the battery in the fob.... Err, It's an E46 you plum, it charges from the barrel.

Mines under warranty so will find out next week what they say.

Mine has done the samething for the three years I've owned it. I think it's a general problem with the model of 3 series as I know many people who have experienced it. Bizarrely it just comes and goes...

Do the later E46 M3's do this? Could it be related to the alarm security system? Doesn't seem too good.
