Just picked up my "new" E36 Evo coupe - and very nice it is too! Not had an M3 for over a year now, and tbh I'd forgotten how much I like having 300bhp.

One question - it's got Intrax coilovers fitted - anyone know of these, and whether they're any good? It certainly drives well enough...

Intrax are a top end suspension kit built more for track than road.

Nice to be back!

Well, it's already got the coilovers plus adjustable ARBs, adjustable top mounts, chassis x-brace and strut brace, so not too much to do on that side.

Going to replace the discs/pads all round - with factory kit to start with, and see how that fares. The intention is to track it as much as possible, so if the brakes don't hold up well enough then an AP kit to go on I think.

Also looking for a spare set of alloys and some slicks (for when the weather holds), and finally to remove the rear M-tec spoiler - I'm not a fan.

But before I do any of that, I need to find out what is draining the battery overnight - I suspect it's either the alarm or the amp...

or the battery is shagged. Just replaced mine today frown

If you'll be tracking, I'd leave the spoiler on. They do actually work so I'm told.

Marginally. The GT spoiler is supposed to work (and with my car at least you can actually see it generate a type of rooster tail in the wet, providing you go fast enough wink)

Not so sure of the effectiveness or otherwise of the standard evo one. It was after all an option - suggesting the car copes fine without. It also looks fugly IMO which is why I replaced it with the GT2 rear wing.

Sounds like the battery ist kaput also. My M5 wont start now if it's left more more than 36 hours rolleyes It seems these cars never truly shut down so battery drain is quite severe.

My last Evo didn't have a spoiler and it didn't fall off the road, so I think I'll risk it - you can probably tell I'm really not a fan of them! *Might* put an E46 style lip spoiler on in its place.

Going to start with an ammeter across the battery when I get home (bloody management offsite) and see what the draw is with everything off - if it's above normal I'll start pulling fuses until it drops.

If that doesn't work, new battery.
