Dear All,

I have just bought an E46 M3 to use as a toy and do a bit of track work. I am completely new to M3's and have never even been round a track... eek

Can anyone tell me what the orange & red lights are on the rev counter? I assume they are for temperature, but the very last orange one and two red ones never go off - is this correct?

Also any idea how I can identify if the car has been fitted with factory Bluetooth?

Many thanks!

Regards
Rob

The orange and red lights are the rev limit - lower while the car is cold, as it warms up the last couple stay on to represent the usual 'red line'.

If you have bluetooth, you should have a button and cradle under the arm rest.

As has been said before.. Brake upgrades are normally the first port of call for M3's that are about to go on the track.

totally agree, never used mine on track, but my one criticism of the car that brakes fade far too quickly 10 - 15 minutes of abuse and they are gone...

An AP brake caliper upgrade is quite common (and costly) if you're intending to do quite a bit of track work. However if it is just the occassional half day here and there then simply upgrade the pads and fit braided hoses with 5.1 fluid and your good to go.
