Hi,

Can anyone offer their informed opinion based on experience of buying and selling an M3 in Topaz Blue.

Find one that is totally fully loaded and looks good however is finished in Topaz Blue with Silver/Grey leather.

I personally like it however spoken to couple of traders today, one in particular that mentioned he would "serve it" (his words not mine!) no matter how fully loaded it is as they are a problematic resale colour.

Don't want to buy a lemon so interested to hear thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Bought my wife a topaz blue 325i Sport Coupe (dealer had a new one in the show room for immediate delivery) a few years back and sold it on instantly with no problems.

Personally, I think it is a great colour.

Topaz isn't a common colour for M3s, and especially in combination with very unpopular grey interior, that car will be harder to sell than one of the more common variants (SG/Black balck/black etc).

Yes, I had seen one in the market that was particularly fully loaded however the Topaz Blue was a worry from a resale POV. I actually really like it and don't mind the grey leather at all.

The irony is though I have learn't the hard way that it isn't all about what I like it's about what the market will consider when it's time for resale.

Thanks for all your help to all.

Having said that, if you like it and make sure the price you pay takes into account the colour combo then you have nothing to lose.

I have just bought an M6 which is Indi Red with Light Grey Leather. I was a little bit worried that the market would prefer black leather, but the car looks fantastic and so far I have only had positive comments - so for a private sale I cannot see it being an issue.
