quite.... if said 18/19 yr old mowed down a kiddie and the ins co could prove that it was in fact said youngster that was the main driver but only named on the policy then wave goodbye to the payout.
And 18/19 yr olds should not be allowed near the wheel of anything that has that much power. 1-2 years driving is not enough experience. IMHO at age 31 of course. I would have disagreed at that age!

What would the insurance be like on a lad of 18 or 19 being put on an insurance policy of a 42 year old man who has made no claims in his whole car career???

I agree with what you guys are saying, but if this particular teenager is extremely sensible
This teenager is faaar faaar away from being a boy racer and he understands you must have an awful lot of respect for a car as quick as the M3.

Regarding young people and powerful cars have a look at this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
tuscan, EXACTLY what i was going to post a link to.
nowt to do with how competent you are at handling a 300+bhp car- its about relative lack of experience and appreciation/perception of what happens out on the road.
That is something only experience can bring, and even then mistakes still happen

Edited to say: all the above happened when I was 18 and thought I'd know how to react in that situation. I had to think again after that.
