At 22k now, I've noticed that the rear feels a little loose, like it's moving around just very slightly to the side under hard acceleration. The car doesn't break traction, but it feels like the rear of the car isn't being pushed forward in a straight line? If that makes sense?

My tyres are low and nearly in need of replacement at the moment, but I'd have thought that if it were those that were the culprits I'd just end up losing grip, or the car would step out? Or could it be that with less grip in the tyres due to being worn, the diff is compensating when applying power and that is resulting in the movement I'm feeling?

Is it likely the same RTAB issue that affects the E46 also affects the Z4MC? At 22k miles with a few 'Ring and track day visits under it's belt, I know it's not unheard of for an E46 M3 to suffer at this mileage...

I guess there are not too many Z4 M Coupes with many more miles than yours to make a good comparison.

Having seen some of your youtube appearances, I think it might be fair to say some your cars bushes etc, might wear out earlywink

Might be worth asking BMW to look at it under warranty. How much difference do think your mods will have on a potential claim?

Mine were starting to weat before I sold her and it only had 10k on the clock so it's perfectly feasable that these will suffer the same fate as the M3 RTAB's

Hello mate,

I have exactly the same issue with my Z4M Coupe, which has done 22k miles too! The only difference is that it has probably double the Ring + Trackday mileage compared to yours. The rear tyres are very low, but I also get a knock from the rear when I floor it in 2nd, making me think that some bushes at the back are shagged.

As with regards to Easter at the Ring - I am skiing that week, moreover the Z4M Coupe will be stepping down from Ring Duty in favour of the Big Bruiser - check my profile. Planning to go there 1st weekend of March to buy my Jahrekarte...

Hey Alex,

Interesting. I think I will push with the dealer to see if they'll do them under warranty... the only thing I think they could refuse it on would be the lowering springs. Could these affect RTAB wear? (i'd not thought it would make a huge difference tbh? - considering these are likely to go on standard cars in this time)

As for the 'Ring - that's a shame, but I will look out for you later in the year in the 928 wink
