Still trying to get to the bottom of the apparent fault on my car (see earlier thread 'E46 Traction Control'), which appears to be that the DSC will not turn off.
I've tried launching the car in first with a thoroughly warmed up engine (DSC switched off) in first gear and power cuts out (or is drastically reduced) at anything between 3.5k and about 5-6k. The car then kangeroos forwards as though the power is cutting in and out. Needless to say this not ideal and can be quite embarassing. Is the power fluctuation the DSC taking over or would that be more of a subtle affair?
Has anyone had a similar problem either with the symptoms I describe or with DSC apparently not switching off?

PS The engine will happily rev to 8k provided there is no risk of the rear wheels spinning.
