Steering Racks

Morning all,

I am experiencing some steering wheel wobble at certain speeds, which my MOT tester has warned me is the steering rack on its way out.
Anyone have any experience with racks. I understand that I can swap my current LHD rack with one from an E36 M3 3.0, Where is the best place to make contact with a UK based specialist as I need to look into this asap.

Ay assistance will be appreciated.

what car is it you want the rack for? I'd stay away form the M3 3.0 rack its ruddy awful, my rack going and I'm going to replace with a standard e36 rack

Hi Cliff,

Its going into a Z1 of all things, apparently the groaning noise and ball joint at the end of the steering arm is down to this. And it is much cheaper to fit an E36 version instead of an original. I have no experience with M3 racks over standard versions, just a guy who knows a guy fitted one for a guy in the netherlands, you know how it is :-)
